Speaking skills are an important part of language competence. However, it's not always easy to get students to talk in class. In this course we are going to study the processes involved in the development of speaking skills and discuss how to create effective activities (using stories, songs, games, role play, discussions) to encourage students to speak and interact in class. Taking a look at different examples from the primary EFL classroom, we will focus on material/task design and media use and address questions of differentiation, feedback and error correction. Participants will design short teaching sequences and material to be used in the classroom.
Please note: Once you have signed up and been admitted on PULS, you will receive an email via PULS to let you know how to access the Moodle course. If you can not (yet) access PULS and are interested in taking this course, please send me an email.
