From Napoleon to Hitler: The Road to Total War, 1792–1945 - Einzelansicht

This course will address the radicalisation of warfare from the Napoleonic age to the Second World War. We will consider topics ranging from the revolution of warfare to the changing character of propaganda, ideology, economies and international law. By critically discussing the concept of total war, we will attempt to define the footprint of modern wars, including the relationship between radicalisation and the restriction of armed conflicts. Classes will take place in English. Strong verbal and writing skills in English are essential for participation.
