This hands-on course is part of the "Key Competences" module in English Studies. It is a practical counterpart of the "Introduction to Synchronic Linguistics I/II." This course focuses on basic academic working techniques in the field of English linguistics, such as literature research, data collection and processing, writing academic papers as well as preparing presentations in linguistics. Furthermore, students will be introduced to various methods of empirical linguistic analysis, including the use of electronic text corpora.

Please note that currently this course is expected to take place offline and in a synchronous mode on campus Neues Palais. However, the teaching form may be changed in accordance with the latest Covid regulations.
