With the German adoption of a feminist foreign policy and a feminist development cooperation, the demands of feminist activist and scholars have finally been heard. For too long women have been missing in all spheres of International Relations (IR).
Therefore, this course explores the role of women in different fields of international relations. Throughout the seminar the students will gain in-depth knowledge on:
We address these topics with the help of reading feminist IR literature. The seminar will also accumulate knowledge of the actors and instruments relevant to a feminist approach to international relations.

Language Requirements:
The language of instruction is English.
Active and regular participation (not graded):
Students are expected to prepare the required reading and participate actively in class; Students should not miss more than two sessions.
Summative assignment (graded), required for 6 ECTS:
Paper Proposal (2-3 pages), due date: 14/07/2022
Term paper (20-25 pages, if not regulated differently in the PRÜFUNGSORDNUNG), due date: 30/09/2022
This class is offered for Masterstudents in International Relations and Political Science. If slots are available, other disciplines are highly welcome!
Please note that this course is not recommended for Erasmus students at the bachelor level.
