This course offers an introduction to Gender Theories from various academic fields that explore critical questions about the meaning of gender in society. The primary goal of this course is to familiarize students with key issues, questions and debates concerning gender as a relevant organizing principle in a range of social spheres, such as law, culture, education, work, medicine, social policy and the family. Students will become acquainted with critical questions and concepts feminist scholars have developed as tools for thinking about gendered experience. We will also explore the complex ways in which gender intersects with class, race, ethnicity and sexuality within various spheres and institutions of society.
If the pandemic situation allows it, this will be an on-site seminar with no hybrid option. Please refrain from inquiring via email about the latest status, I will do my best to provide information in due time.
