Hip Hop from a linguistic perspective - Einzelansicht

This seminar will explore Hip Hop from a linguistic perspective. We will not only look at its linguistic features, but also its functions and culture. Specifically, corpus-based methods along with analytical tools from Cognitive Linguistics - conceptual metaphor theory - will serve as gateways to access Hip Hop linguistically and culturally. Students will be required to work on their own research projects and present them in class.
