The sociolinguistics of English in Southern Africa - Einzelansicht

This seminar will explore sociolinguistic dimensions of the use of English in multilingual Southern Africa. The main focus will be on English(es) in the Republic of South Africa (i.e. Black South African English, Afrikaans English, Cape Flats English and South African Indian English). However, varieties of English in Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini will also feature in the course.
