Due to an unexpectedly high demand, this course has been divided up into two groups: one on Monday afternoon, as planned, and another one on Wednesday afternoon.

THE MONDAY GROUP IS FULLY BOOKED. If you register for the course, do not wait to be admitted, but please ATTEND IT ON WEDNESDAYS, 12:15 - 15:45, room 3.06.0.15, on the Griebnitzsee campus.

UNIcert® III/2 Englisch der Naturwissenschaften (6 LP)

This is the second semester of the specialized language course consisting of 2 semesters, which prepares students for UNIcert III English for the Natural Sciences.

The course is open to students who have completed a UNIcert III/1 level English course (except English for Law). Cross-entry is possible with a placement test score of 80 and above.

Original reading and listening texts from the specified subject areas provide the basis for discussions and lectures. There is an introduction to writing scientific publications with practical exercises as direct preparation for the UNIcert III English of Science Certificate exam.

Based on course input and your own work, topics include population development, Darwin's theory of evolution, the oceans, aquatic and terrestrial environments/habitats, the earth's movements, getting back to nature: organic food, digestion in humans, the circulatory system, nutrition.

The UNIcert III English for Science is useful as a prerequisite for Master's degrees, internships, study abroad and your further career.
