This course deals with different forms of armed conflict on the African continent, starting with the colonial conquest at the end of the 19th century up to extremist violence in the 21st century. Including new research questions, countries such as Angola, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia or Rwanda are covered. The course focuses on current discourses as well as the analysis of the reasons for, the different actors in, and the course and consequences of the different conflicts.
