Micro-processes of socioeconomic reproduction from childhood to adult education - Einzelansicht

“How do students deal with challenges in the education system? How (and why) do those efforts vary along social class lines? How do education systems respond to those efforts? How (and why) do those responses contribute to inequalities?” In this seminar, we will address these questions, among others, to investigate at the micro level the social processes that produce and maintain inequalities. During the seminar, we will critically examine theories and empirical evidence on the topic drawing on recent developments in the literature as well as different research perspectives (qualitative and quantitative). This course will take a life course perspective by focusing on multiple education levels, from childhood to adult education.
