Description

Based on the knowledge gained from the introductory Hebrew course, this course will provide knowledge in Biblical Hebrew and the Tiberian Masora. It will focus on the morphology of Biblical Hebrew, delving into the verbal system, including verbal suffixes, 'weak' verbs, finite and infinite forms, and more. Additionally, the course will cover phonological phenomena in Biblical Hebrew, simple and complex sentence structures, and a vocabulary of around 1000 words.

By the end of the semester, students will be able to:

  • Read the Masoretic text fluently.
  • Understand and translate medium-level narrative texts from the Hebrew Bible using an academic dictionary.
  • Prepare for the Hebraicum exam.
